After sending a CV and covering letter, I was invited for an interview in early November 2005.
The interview consisted of a 2 on 1 discussion in the relevant fleet managers' office with his fleet chief pilot.
I was interviewed for around 35 minutes, during which time we spoke about my previous experience, motivations, personal situation, knowledge of the company, and finally what my basing preference would be if I was offered the job. The interview ended with a shake of hands and a promise to inform me within 2 weeks of the interview if I had been successful. There were no technical questions, numeracy tests, and so sim assessment. I was told during the interview that Monarch employ current line pilots in this fashion as they find that the HR driven technical apttitude tests distort results, and are less effective in selecting suitable candidates.
