The previous gouge is spot on! However, I didn't had any HR interview. The day started at 7:30 am, brief presentation about the company and then the three computerized tests began. Look for the delta interview study sheet from sheppard air, it will give you a good idea about the 60 questions knowledge test. The other two tests are impossible to prepare for (make sure you get good night sleep). Next was the HR form followed by an essay. My topic was "avoiding wind shear" nothing complicated. After this we got about an hour break for lunch, as everybody mention make sure you bring cash. The second part of the day was fairly easy compared to the computerized tests. 1 on 1 interview with the pilot recruiter. Very relax atmosphere, everything is straight forward and no trick questions. I"ve been asked to brief an ILS approach into KDEN. Couple of alternate questions. Can you continue the approach if after crossing the FAF the visibility dropped? Why ExpressJet? Tell me about your hobbies outside of aviation? All in all the 1 on 1 took about 25 minutes.
The last portion included more paperwork, fingerprints, and drug test. The drug test is done in a separate facility. We had a driver that took us there and back to the hotels when we were done.

All in all very positive experience. They know you are nervous and will try to make you feel comfortable. Also they need pilots! So if they invite you to the interview the job is your to lose! Good luck

Other gouges are spot on.

Start at 0730 with a briefing about the company, their goals, which side they are hiring onto (ERJ vs CRJ), training, and any questions you might have.

After that a cognitive test (can't really study for it, I did find that taking the cap off the stylus and using two hands on the screen helped at times) followed by a personality test followed by a job knowledge test. The knowledge test was pretty tough, make sure you study from the guide they send out. Did a short HR type form on qualities of yourself, how you will fir into XJT, etc and then a paragraph essay on a pretty generic topic. Mine was something along the lines of "What type of professional qualities are expected of a pilot to be well rested and ready to fly?". The topic was poorly worded, but you get the point.

Break for lunch after. Bring cash since they don't take card for the food.

Went back up and did a one on one technical interview with a captain. Very relaxed. I didn't get any questions about my logbook or my flying. Asked standard questions like "how did you get into flying", "tell me about yourself", "What do you like to do outside of work, hobbies, sports, etc". I was asked "when do you need to file an alternate under part 91"(I didn't have any 121/135 experience, so that's all I knew about). Was asked to brief ILS 35R DEN on Jepp charts. No big deal if you're IFR proficient. Asked what I would do if past FAF and lost GS. Capt showed me how they brief it. Asked me when we can descend from DA/MDA. Asked about IFR fuel requirements (part 91). Asked what plane I'm most familiar with right now and to explain a system from it. Elec from C-172. Cake. Asked if I had any questions and done with that part.

Did an HR interview right after, very quick. Why did you get into flying, what is a strength and weakness and how are you working on getting past it, and tell me about a time that you disagreed with a coworker and how did you resolve it.

Went to another building and was told pending background check, drug test, and captains board that they would like to offer a conditional offer of employment (basically, if you pass the interview you get hired...I didn't get that part). Did fingerprints and did a drug test at an off site location. They will give you a voucher for a cab back to the hotel or airport from the drug test place.

All in all it was a great experience. They really wanted to see you succeed and seemed like a great company to work for. We had 7/8 make it though. Make sure your paperwork is in order and be well rested.

Very laid back and everyone was extremely nice. Did the 3 standardized tests, had lunch and then the one on one interview. I received no tech questions in the one on one, and was conditionally offered a job on the spot. Did the HR paperwork and drug screen and was done. June 17th CRJ class. They are in dire need of pilots, and if you get an interview the job is yours to lose. I did not think the pilot knowledge test was that difficult, just study the gouge and you will be OK.

Interview started at the Delta Training Center with computer testing. This includes psych eval, aviation knowledge and iq testing, took about 3 hours. Afterwards, we were transported to the Expressjet building and went to lunch in the cafeteria for about an hour. Then we were shown the company overview and explained about the projections etc. From there we began the one on one interviews, and then transported to the hr building. Here, we were fingerprinted. We were then transported to the Concentra medical clinic for drug testing.

I think there were about 10 of us, I know we lost 1 for sure after individual interviews. Not certain from there. I wasn't notified of getting hired until a month after the interview. They said the holidays caused a backlog. They said at this time no projections for class dates and I will be placed in a pool. I was told not to expect a call until maybe Febuary, but definitely by March. This was because of post holiday travel slump and losing a contract in Vietnam. Apparently, 4 CRJ aircraft and crews getting put back into the system.

Interview 11/30/2012

Start the process at 0700 by taking the shuttle from the Drury hotel to the Delta building. Make sure you tell the driver the Delta building since it's the same shuttle that runs back and forth to the airport. Check in at the security gate, they will point you to the building you need to go to, and then wait in the lobby.

Computer tests start at 0730 just like previous posts stated. Right as you start they collect the paperwork packets and logbooks. Have them tabbed! They had zero questions about my logbook and paperwork. Start with cognitive test, NEO personality test, and then job knowledge. Take the breaks they give you and relax. No way to study for cognitive and personality test. There is a max time limit on all tests but if you finish early, you can move right onto the next test. But take the breaks in between!!

Once all your computer tests are completed, you have an HR questionnaire to fill out along with the technical paragraph. Everyone got 'describe the basic of a turbine engine.' The HR questionnaire is nothing extravagant, usual HR questions. They never asked me anything about it later.

After you complete that, wait out in lobby again for everyone to finish. Then the two interviewers drove us over to the ExpressJet building. Had lunch in the cafeteria; $5 and it was pretty good. After lunch, saw the company powerpoint presentation. Future looks bright for them and everyone at the company building seemed happy to be there.

Then comes the 1 on 1 interview. It was around half hour and just like previous posts, it is VERY relaxed and truly seems they just want to get to know you. I was nervous but that went away with minutes of starting to talk. First ten minutes we talked about the recent hurricane in the NE since I live in NJ. He then pulled out the Asheville ILS 34 and asked me to brief it. It was a Jepp plate which I haven't used in years but had no problem with it. Then some scenario questions about the approach. Really easy as long as you've been flying IFR lately. He began to ask me about the latest multi-engine I was flying, but stopped since I had advanced jet training from a university. Also a scenario based question whether or not you would stand up and voice your opinion to the captain.

After everyone was done, we went to get fingerprinted and drug tested. Finished by 1700.

We started the day with six and ended with 5. One got let go in the interview phase. Paperwork is VERY important!! I cannot stress that enough. Have exactly what they ask for before you get there!

In regards to people making it to the end of the day....it was said previously that if you make it to the fingerprinting and drug testing, you were ok. THIS IS NOT THE FACT!! I talked with people after the interview and two more of them got cut. So three of the six of us got the job.

I interviewed Friday 11/30 and got a call Tuesday 12/4 for a class date.
