Jet Blue paid for hotel and cab to interview in New York.
Everyone goes into a large waiting room to wait for their two interviews.
One with a Pilot and one with an HR person. Set up just like a Southwest
interview. While waiting to interview you could talk to other candidates or
ask questions of the President of the Company Dave Barger, Chief pilot,
Director of Safety, or David Neeleman the man who started it all. This was
not part of the interview, but was a way for your to know the corporate
culture and learn about jetBlue.
The interviews were both very relaxed and consisted of the following
questions:
Tell me about a time a subordinate came up with an idea and how you helped
them developed the idea and what happened?
Tell me about the toughest crew you have ever flown with?
Tell me about a time you had to roll up your sleeves to get the job done?
Tell me about a time you effectively handled a guest complaint?
Tell me about a time you ensured a customers needs were met?
Tell me about a situation you took steps to make sure customer was satisfied?
Tell me about a time you saw a coworker unsafe?
Tell me about a time you were under staffed at work and what you did about it
to make sure safety was not compromised?
Tell me about a time you enhanced safety procedures?
What procedure do you use to keep track of items which need to be done.
Tell me about a time you forgot to do something important?
What do you do during idle time at work?
Tell me about a time job opportunities were limited and was it good or bad?
Tell about a time you had to work closely with others and was it good or bad?
Describe a time you had the most fun at work?
Describe degree of community involvement the organization was involved in and
how you viewed that?
Tell me something you want us to know about you which we may not have learned
from the interview.
All questions should be answered in situation action and result format. They
want to see what kind of leadership and team building you have.
